Deborah Deal-Blackwell, APR

CEO, IX Power Foundation

VP, Marketing, IX Power Clean Water

Ms. Deal serves as the CEO of the IX Power Foundation and is responsible for all day-to-day operations.  The Foundation is funded primarily by IX Power Clean Water.

Deborah is a graduate of both Leadership Jefferson County and Leadership Golden, and is, and has been, an active member of many organizations in Colorado, Washington D.C., and Florida.

Recently retired as a Trustee for the Jefferson County Library system, she continues to chair Jeffco International Women’s Day (now in its 6th year), is a member of the board of directors for the Jefferson County Library Foundation.

The IX Power Foundation is not her first non-profit experience. As the CEO of the five-state medical transportation charity Angel Flight Southeast, she resurrected the organization and doubled revenues and services in just one year.  But her career did not begin in the nonprofit sector; initially she started in broadcasting. After leaving television, Deborah honed what would become her 35+ years of experience in public relations and marketing by serving a wide variety of clients in computer software, real estate development, consumer and business travel, and politics. Her clients were spread across the U.S., Asia, the Caribbean, and Russia. She was also a co-founder of Hyperion Power Generation and was the firm’s first employee. Deborah was the top executive in Hyperion’s Washington, D.C. office and directed all interaction with Capitol Hill and federal agencies based in the city.

In addition to serving the IX Power Foundation and before that Angel Flight Southeast, Deborah has served on the boards of countless non-profit, civic, cultural and industry-specific organizations over the years. Originally from Savannah, Georgia, her degrees in journalism-public relations and radio-TV were earned at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.  Her accreditation as an accredited public relations specialist (APR) is from the Public Relations Society of America. She is an avid fiber artist and gardener.
