As Vice President of Community and Government Affairs, Carol Salzmann leadshealthcare advocacy and government relations at the federal, state, county, and local level in support of SCL Health Lutheran Medical Center, a community-based, acute-care hospital serving the Denver metro area. Carol brings over thirty years of dynamic health care leadership and practice experience to her role including philanthropy, community health improvement, critical care nursing, business development, nurse consulting, marketing and communications.
As part of her commitment to leadership and the community, Carol serves on the Colorado Hospital Association Legislative Council, American Heart Association Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team, Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs Committee, West Metro Chamber Government Affairs Committee, Jefferson County Public Health Community Health Needs Assessment Steering Committee and the Wheat Ridge Revitalization Steering Committee. Carol hasbeen honored as a Colorado Nursing Nightingale Nominee and an Outstanding Woman in Jefferson County Honoree and Member of the Year for the West Metro Chamber.
International travel, hiking and reading are some of her passions. Carol is the proud mother of 3 adult children and 2 granddaughters.
